July 2nd, 2009 EU Warns Member States of Winter Gas Crisis

The European Commission has warned all the EU member states to be prepared for another gas crisis next winter.
EU countries should fill their gas storage facilities, and seek further regional arrangements to ward off possible supply disruptions, the EC said Thursday.
Bulgaria was one of the countries most affected in the January crisis, when a payment dispute led to Russia cutting off supplies into Ukraine including those destined for Europe.

Bulgarian engineers have invented a super light construction material made of concrete and styrofoam.
The material is several times lighter than the ordinary materials used in modern buildings construction.
A square meter of a wall weights 70 kilograms with the new material, compared to 400 kilograms with the old fashioned ones.
